High Intensity Interval Training: Tabatas

It’s week 2…

And I hope you checked out last week’s routine based on the Dr. Izumi Tabata’s treadmill workouttheory of a HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) principle.

It’s 20 seconds of intense work followed by 10 seconds off for a total of 4 minutes.

This information is a reprint below, but with a different routine.

I preface this blog with a 100% transparent statement:

THIS IS NOT A QUICK FIX ANSWER TO ALL YOUR HEALTH & FITNESS NEEDS

Though the theory behind the 4-minute workout is clinically tested and a proven form of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).

The workout was developed and researched by Dr. Izumi Tabata; based largely on 4 minutes of intense movements.

In the 4 minutes, perform the exercises at a high intensity for 20 seconds followed by 10 seconds of rest.

The study revealed that the HIIT principles he developed produced better aerobic and anaerobic development versus hour-long bouts of moderate-intensity exercise routines (source).

WARNING:  This routine is not for the beginner, novice or someone starting up in health & fitness.  Proceed with caution.
